Too bad data plans on phones are getting worse for the consumer. Not to mention home based ISP's clamping down (like the latest ATT DSL dealio). I still prefer my music (and data for that matter) on my own devices and not in the cloud.

And with the whole PSN fiasco, the cloud isn't that great of selling point any more.

I don't see this as a replacement for iPods, but a compliment. I don't trust a single company to have all of that data but then again, I'd still have access at home.

What? That doesn't even make sense. I suppose you think internet shopping is not that great any more either?

Nothing against internet commerce but if I'm buying something, it better work 24x7.

While I do trust Google more, it still doesn't shake the fact that I need network infrastructure to be up to access my stuff. And I still trust my iPod/Android local storage more than any damn cloud.

No one is forcing you to give up your local storage. It's not like if you put your stuff on the cloud, you can't have it backed up on a hard drive. It sounds like people are fighting this out of irrational paranoia and the false assumption that you are somehow sacrificing something by using a cloud service. I can understand not wanting private information stored remotely like this, but it's not like all that information isn't already stored on dozens of web servers around the world..every time you make a purchase online, or access your bank account online, etc etc some of it is getting put out there.
