My wife came back from Mexico City on Saturday. There was a black guy in front of her at the check-in counter, and the airline employees said "Hay que checar el moreno a ver si no trae navajas."
"We need to check the black guy to see if he doesn't have any knives."
Of course, the guy didn't speak Spanish, and didn't understand why the police were summoned over and he was being frisked. Again, this is before security, but just at the ticket counter.

being mexican as well, im sure they used it the same way i would have...
at least they didnt say to check the "mayate". that would have been a lot worse.
