Economy fix

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America's economy.
Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander
the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following
plan. You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. -
Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the
following
stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment
fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American Car. Forty million cars ordered
- Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage -
Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress and
their constituents pay their taxes...

Would it really fix unemployment? Forcing senior experienced employees to retire replacing them with new individuals. Great plan.

The older ones would be flush with cash so they wouldn't want to work anyway. Therefore, they'd make room for the new people looking for work. In theory, it's a perfect plan that benefits all involved.

In practice, it's my fucking money and gubmint isn't allowed to just hand it out to some decrepit elderly motherfuckers.

Also, the housing crisis isn't about paying mortgages off, it's about being able to pay them at all. If you can afford the payments and stay current, there is no crisis.

Actually, I think his point was that companies would be fucked if all their senior, most knowledgeable people left all of a sudden. There would be no transfer of knowledge and you'd have a bunch of college grads who had no fuckin clue what they are doing and no one to teach them. The net effect of this would be disastrous, and "email" chains like this where everyone is like "oh yea, great idea" is one more example of why people are too stupid to make policy and we elect others to do it for us. Unfortunately, those officials make stupid choices too, but usually not AS stupid.
