was a blast! I went there for vacation from the 8th to the 16th to visit a college buddy of mine. played golf just about everyday there and got to see a county fair and demolition derby, plus play with his kids.
weather was awesome - sunny, with high 80's to mid 90's. and i just left before they predicted triple digit weather this past weekend.
Did you go to the Towe Auto Museum?
If you didn't, you're not a real car guy. [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]
Apparently the name has been changed to the California Auto Museum.

no, didn't go to the Auto Museum....but i did watch a demolition derby at the county fair. they even had a pickup division. that was nuts! the track was fast that day and one car actually got hit so hard, it flipped over on its top!
To be honest the Towe Auto Museum, is ok. Its not the best, Though they do have quite a number of cars, though being it was formerly a Ford Museum, there are more Model A's and Model T's that I've ever seen.
For the number of cars and history there, I give it a 8/10. As for Showcases and overall appeal of the displays, 5/10.

But it is Sacramento, after all.
That's as good as you're gonna get in that part of the state.

Danville, (east bay area) has Blackhawk Museum, which is pretty nice. Not a whole lot of cars but a pretty nice display.
You know as well as I do that anything on the other side of the Altamont Pass is like being another state so you really can't consider it as part of the area.

I have to agree with that. It's a whole different world, society, pace there which is only an hour or so away.
Danville is only about an hour and a half away from Sacto, its not too far, but yes in the "area"
