How much money does the US give to other countries?
1. Israel, $2.4 billion
2. Egypt, $1.7 billion
3. Pakistan, $798 million
4. Jordan, $688 million
5. Kenya, $586 million
6. South Africa, $574 million
7. Mexico, $551 million
8. Colombia, $541 million
9. Nigeria, $491 million
10. Sudan, $479 million
Someone explain to me why we give these countries money to begin with? How is that we can give billions of dollars in aid to foreign countries yet still have billions of dollars worth of a deficit? I don't understand why it is OUR job to send OUR TAX MONEY money to these people!
Quick correction, your trillions in debt, not billions. We live in a global economy and sometimes, if you want to keep/make a friend, you gotta give 'em your fries. Also keep in mind, the amount of foreign aid listed there, still doesn't touch the number The Big Three want. It looks like a lot of money, but it couldn't keep GM running another quarter, hehe.
^^Never heard of it until today. Found the article on Digg.
I think that went over your head...
The amounts are ridiculous. Looking forward to Obama's plans...
I agree it's a global economy, but when you're cutting funding to domestic programs, go to drastic measures to reduce your spending, yet still send billions overseas to help foreign citizens, there's something wrong.
And why do you all think that Egypt, Pakistan and Jordan mind their own shit when we handle business over there? Publicly, they 'hate' us, but privately they depend on us. They won't bite the hand that feeds them..making 'friends' in that region costs money.
