How can you compete when the other guys can build better cars and still have time left to come up with shit like this? It's like Honda stealing Ford's and GM's girlfriends at the same time and then screwing their moms too just for good measure.

Think of the possible military implications, if it could be designed to help with running and jumping...think about it

I personally think it is a cool idea, especially if you are lazy and like your balls to be squished all day

Yup. Not to mention helping older people move around. Also, if someone broke their leg, they could probably tune this thing to gradually add weight to it as they walked around for a few weeks.

HOLY SHIT, has anyone ever heard of this? Job Bank?

[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]

Quote:
One of the best reasons why Detroit automakers should not receive a bailout can be found in a General Motors "Jobs Bank" program that, bizarrely, pays employees not to work.

A beneficiary of that program was someone named Jerry Mellon, who worked for GM until his division merged with another in 2000 and he was no longer needed. Except for a brief period in 2001, Mellon received his full salary for not working, which reached $64,500 a year by 2006. Include benefits, and the annual cost to GM exceeds $100,000.

To earn his pay, Mellon was given the formidable task of showing up in a windowless shed, sitting at a table, and doing nothing for eight hours a day for six years, according to a profile in the Wall Street Journal. Jobs Bank employees have the option of attending classes teaching such important manufacturing skills as dealing blackjack and poker. Mellon spent part of his time reading Reader's Digest, learning how to play Trivial Pursuit, napping on a makeshift bed of chairs pushed together, or simply staring at the wall for hours at a time.

All that is because of the POS unions and how completely worthless they are. Unions are no longer entities to protect their employees, rather, to see how little employees can do and still get paid.

saw on the news today GM isn't going anywhere, they've made major cutbacks, and are going as far as not premiering new cars at the la auto show.

The Big 3 need to file bankruptcy. They can't be allowed to continue "business as usual" with bailout money.

i agree to an extent. the powerful unions suck the life out of the economy but I remember the local teachers union isn't as powerful and they are still underpaid....

car manufacturers and airline pilot unions are ones that come to mind when I think of unions that are too powerful...oh, and major league baseball...they need a salary cap
