You voted for 2 but against 12? What the fuck is wrong with you.
I voted no on every single one of those except for 12. This fucking state doesn't need to spend more money on stupid shit. Every one of those is going to be a money pit with little ROI, and the light rail could potentially be the granddaddy of them all. THe with debt we are in, the only one deserving of any money was #12, not only because they have earned and deserve the help, but because it will give people more incentive to join our military if they know that they will be taken care of when they get out. I'm too much of a pussy and I like my relatively easy life to join the military, so I'll gladly pay a little more taxes if it means those who will do what I won't get an added bonus.

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people. If the morons who vote in this state had even the slightest comprehension of the shithole we are in financially, NONE of these would have passed. But people see buzzwords like "high speed rail" and they get all horny, but apparently they haven't driven on our highways because they ALL SUCK SHIT. I can't even imagine how much money people lose every year from extra maintenance on their cars added by the pot-hole infested california roads and highways. There was a pothole on 880 for over 2 years that was at least a foot wide, 2 feet long and 6 inches deep and I shit my pants every time I drove over it because it felt like I hit a big dog. How can anyone with half a brain vote for something as expensive as a light rail and expect it to be anything but a miserable failure when the people running our state can't even wipe their own ass without spending 6 billion dollars.

All I would have needed to know about which way to vote on Prop 11.

Some of those are actually pretty good proposals. I don't know anything about the financial state of CA, but just reading some of them I would have voted yes on a lot of them.

^ The financial state of CA is not good.
Instead of a high speed rail up/down the coast (which would be nice, but this is not the time to spend $$ on it), CA should work with Nevada and get a train from LA - Vegas. I bet that would pay for itself in no time! Especially if casinos chipped in to build it (it's in their interest).

California is fucked. Think about what is happening in New York right now - that is exactly where we are headed. So much debt, yet all californias can think about is spending more state money while they bitch about how much national debt Bush has gotten us intno. Fucking hypocrites.

That's actually not a bad idea. There will be a lot of people who would use that train to travel to and from Vegas from Cali.
You guys are right in terms of priorities. Was it ever made clear on how much these proposals, if passed, would cost taxpayers?
And can someone explain to me how these proposals got on the ballot in the first place. Aren't the elected officials 'supposed' to be the ones to pass legislation like this?

if you ever go to Vegas, take a walk through one of the hotel parking lots and let me know if you can find a license plate that is NOT a Cali plate, lol. It's incredible that they don't have a train for this ride... i think it would be a goldmine.
Ah well, like jiggy said, we could definitely be heading the way of NYC with all of these $$$ hungry props that were just passed :\

california has initiative and referendum, which means they can get just about anything on the ballot if they have enough signatures.
