Heard about it the other day. I wish they would buy zoos and let the animals run free in their houses. I would love to see PETA people eaten and mauled by wild animals. ****ing hippies.

...because it's a great idea to let partially domesticated animals in the wild.

I took a communications class in college that qas required for my major, Agricultural Communications 597. We had to pick a project relating to animals and write about it, either for against the ideas of PETA. I wrote a paper about why zoos are actually beneficial and how they help society and animals, blah blah blah.....

Well, one day for class, we had two surprise speakers....reps from PETA. In a class full of students raised on farms (I had to take the class, long story why my major required it, but not the point), and telling them why it is bad to kill animals. OH MAN, you wanna talk about heated discussion, you have people from PETA telling these guys who have lived 20 years on farms as to why their method of life is wrong and detrimental to society and how their families should choose other occupations...lmfao....not good!

I'm not a PETA supporter (i don't even know what PETA stands for) but I actually do feel that animals should be out in the wild, not behind cages. I don't mind vast open areas like they have at parks or amusement safari things.

That is a great thought but in some ****stick countries they have destroyed the habitats of the animals and the only places these animals are thriving is in zoo's and sancturies.

And to me PETA always meant People Eating Tasty Animals but I am pretty sure the hippies have a different meaning.

Peta's official acronym is "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals"

LOL

I prefer People Eating Tasty Animals, personally.

SPCA > PETA

and Lewis Black is no longer one of my favorite comedians after he declared that the NRA and not PETA was the 'Root of All Evil'...

Zoos are actually VERY, VERY beneficial to animals if they are run properly, which most are. They set up habitats as close as possible to natural, keep away predators, and still animals to "hunt" their food. A lion, for example, will be fed by throwing a steak its way once in a while in front of people. However, when it is not in public display, most zoos take the steak and hide it somewhere in the setting and force the lion to search for it, so it stays keen on its senses.
