Default Emissions

Hello. I have a bit of an issue. I am bringing in a car that is out of province(I am in Canada) and before I can get plates etc I need to certify and test the car for emissions. The car is a 91 Sentra auto with 266,600km on it. The car passed the safety no problem but the emissions it failed. The was two parts to the test, siting in idle and traveling at 40km/h. The test were it was idling passed, but the test of traveling at 40km/h the readings were triple the limits. Does anybody have a clue why this might be happening or has has this happen? And the engine is running well just so you know.

Not a mechanic, but seeing as how it only happens under load it sounds like a sensor or possibly valves. Any black smoke? I know, I am not help at all. You should probably see a prefessional.

It could be because of the old engine pistons. They could mallfunction. Try and go to a specialized shop, they will help you.
