I don't know about OEM replacements but of course there are aftermarket universal ebrake covers such as MOMO, Ichibahn and so forth. [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] has a lot of options for shifters and ebrakes and so forth.

Yes it just screws off and on. How hard? Not sure, depends on how hard they torqued it on there before you, but you should be able to just twist it off with your bare hands unless it's a freak of nature and stuck on there for some reason lol.

lol maybe try wrapping a cloth around it (so as not to tear it up) then getting a vice grip and twisting?

Hmm. Check out Custom Maximas website. That is where I used to always go when I had my 98 Maxima. The owners name is Greg of that site. Yes a real good guy. Should be custommaxima.com or they call it Custom enterprise now I belive. And also, about the shifter........The bottem portion of it actually twists off in a certain way from the upper leather wrapped portion (if your talking about an automatic) and it has a small clip that is actually holding that Shifter itself to the Rod. I know this from popping my sisters off by accident cause her shifter was loose and losing that little piece. I would get the diagram from Nissan or search it online so you can see how it looks. If you twist on that or pull it to hard you could be in the situation I was with her max. She has an 04 Maxima but im pretty sure the auto knobs are the same fro the 02 and the 04. Hope that helps somehow. Good luck!

Nick
