Possible Battery Discharge on new '08 Max
I had the weirdest thing happen to me over the weekend with my new baby (I have had my 08 Max SL for about 7 months). I was cleaning the interior and decided to turn on the satellite radio on for awhile without the ignition in the "on" position - it was in the "acc" position. After about 20 min, the radio went out and then the car's interior lights started blinking and everything shut off really slow, the steering wheel took awhile to go back to the position as well. Then when I turned the ignition off and then tried to turn the car on, all I got was clicking noises and the lights going berserk with blinking. I was about to die! I waited an hour and it continued to do it and would not start. I let it go overnight thinking I was going to call AAA in the morning for a boost, but it started the next morning, I'll be it, very rough but it started. I let it run for awhile. I turned it off and then restarted it without any problem and took it for a spin without problem. I have driven 2 more days without any problems or warning lights. If the battery was discharged, how did it charge itself??? Is that even possible? Or, do I have a potentially bigger problem with an electrical issue? Does it have something to do with that smart key? Any help would be great. I think I'm going to call my service station (who I have a very good relationship with my Nissan service advisor) but any insight would be great!!
