Hey, how can you tell if the car is a Cali or Federal car?
Anything on the VIN# to tell?
Door jamb, under the hood???

I believe cali emissions will have 2 cats on the exhaust. usually a precat then an actuall cat. None cali only have the main cat.

I think maybe I need to look under the hood on the engine plate, or the door jamb sticker.

We're going to replace my friend's starter on his 1.6, but they sell two different model starters: cali and fed. Cali is much cheaper, but it's a "direct drive" starter and tends to use more power on start-ups. Not sure if it really matters or not, might just try to use it anyway.

I know, what does a starter have to do with California emissions bs?
