Default what should I get?

so, I sold my altima about a year ago when I moved into the apartment i'm in because of its proximity to the subway and price of garage etc and I just wouldn't use it. I got its worth so I was satisfied.
Now, i'm moving out of the apartment and moving into an apartment at my parents place for a few months until I move to Florida later this year with my to be wife.
Should I buy something that will get me from A to B until I move and then when in Florida in November go into a dealership to buy two cars (new or used) there, or should I buy a good new or used car now and use it for the few months then ship it down.
Any other options are appreciated too..

thanks

Heh...

I'd advise figuring out transportation for each step, and then once you're in and settled with your wife, you should look at getting whatever is going to fit your budget (I'd advise keeping the number of cars down to one for as long as possible, but that's just me). Will both you and your wife be working? If so, try and carpool as much as possible.

Other than that, look at the deals you can possibly get in both places and figure out how much you'll save in either place.

see, thats what i'm trying to do, and i just can't figure out a way to have the most cost effective transportation while i'm up here until November (1 car will definitely do as only I will be working), once we go to Florida, yes we will both be working and need two cars...

you could always pack the car full of shit and have someone drive it down. would probably cost the same as a moving truck with gas and everything, but then you'd have a car down there.
