Default Need troubleshooting ideas

Hi. I have an '02 Sentra GXE that I just inherited...Unfortunately it's thrown 2 codes: The infamous P0420 and a P0350. This weekend I'll be checking the bank 2, O2 sensor and have a replacement on hand if necessary. It's the P0350 code that's kicking my rear. The OBD2 reference code simply states "misfire" or "ignition problem". Well, that's quite a broad spectrum there. I'm a retired Electronics Engineer (Biomed) so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get lost with a trouble-shooting diagram of some sort...the problem being I can't find one for this problem.

Any help at this point would be appreciated...There are no other codes...I checked with Nissan and the CKPS (crankshaft position sensor) was replaced under recall in late 2004. I took it out for a test drive and it balks (stutters, misses, skips) @ 2.2K rpm. It starts up and idles great. Could it be that the CKPS is failing again under load? I've changed plugs...cleaned MAF...cleaned air filter...changed serpentine belts...vacuum leaks...oil...you know genral maintenance items in order to rule out the obvious.

Thanks in advance for any lead or ideas on this one...Once I get this straigtened out, it's headers and change the air intake system!!!

The Ronster23117 :-)

You did not mention spark plug wires or cap and rotor. Safe to assume they were completed?
