DETROIT--Infiniti is considering adding an entry-level vehicle, or a family of models, based on a front-wheel-drive platform.

Exempt from that strategy are the brand's performance cars, the Infiniti G and M. Those will remain rear drive, said Larry Dominique, Nissan North America Inc.'s vice president for product planning.

Doesnt this just become brand saturation again? The same kind of crap that got GM and Chrysler in trouble.

I thought thats what the Nissan brand is for?

True, but it's not really fitting of Infiniti's current pricey, luxury image. Maybe Nissan needs a Scion-style brand?

That is true and does sound like a great idea! I heard Toyota is possibly coming out with an "AMG" type of brand or at least name on tuned versions of its newer cars (kind of like the SE-R's or whatnot) Maybe Nissan should jump on that bandwagon as well again.
