NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 8, 2008) – Nissan North America, Inc., today said it would donate $120,000 in cash to the American Red Cross Nashville Area Chapter to assist with relief efforts in Tennessee after tornadoes ripped through the state earlier in the week.
“Tennessee is our home so we felt a responsibility to help our neighbors,” said Dominique Thormann, senior vice president, Administration and Finance. “As a corporation, we are committed to helping the communities in which we live and work especially in time of need.”
The $120,000 donation will help support the American Red Cross’ Southern Tornado Relief Fund. The Red Cross is coordinating relief efforts in Tennessee with other organizations.
Nissan has a long history of responding to community needs through organizations including the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest Food Bank, World Wildlife Fund, Boys and Girls Clubs and a variety of local and national education programs.
