Talking Need some ideas

Hello all!
I have a 1999 Nissan Altima GXE and I need to get some ideas for it. It is OBD-II and I know that can be an issue......If anyone has ideas help me out.....so far I want to lower it, rims, and an exhaust.

Well, I'll start.

With suspension you have several different options for lowering your car. You have springs, sleeve-type coilovers, and full coilovers.

Of the lowering springs, you have
Eibach (good sporty spring, only lowers 1.2" from stock)
H&R (also good and sport, lowers the car 1.5" from stock height)
Sprint (soft and comfy, and lowers the car 2" from stock)
D2 Springs and KSport Springs (pretty much the same thing) - lowers the car about 2" also, don't know how they ride.

There's a few other off-brands.

Sleeve-type coilovers have a threaded spring seat that sits over your stock strut (like a sleeve), and are height adjustable. The only really good brand for our cars is Ground Control.

Lastly, for full coilovers (which have both a height-adjustable spring design AND come with a matching shock/strut) you have KSports and D2's, which are both pretty much identical except in color. They're expensive, and to be honest, they are noisy too. You're better off getting the Ground Control coilovers in my opinion.

If you do any type of lowering, you might think about getting some better quality struts. The only performance option struts we have are KYB GR2's, slightly stiffer than stock, and Tokico HP's, which are better performing and a little more heavy duty.

I had Ground Controls on stock struts in both of my Altimas and I loved them. when I was done driving my yellow one, all struts were blown out, but it was also lowered as low as it could go.. like 3 inches, maybe more. I was tucking 17s.
