Default I'm getting so sick of the weather!

All I want to do is just detail my damn car!!

It's been an unusually cold and snowy winter, and now that spring is just soooo close, it's constantly raining.

today through thursday it's finally supposed to be in the 50's... BUT 2.5"'s of rain. DAMN IT!

This weekend is only supposed to be like 40-45 too.

Anyways, when I get some weather I plan on doing the following:
Wash with Duragloss 901 and Schmitt
Dry w/ Cobra Waffle Weave towels
Clean/Polish paint with CCS green pad and Pinnacle Paintwork Cleaning Lotion with PC
(I might polish paint with white CCS pad and XMT 360 instead)
Coat of Souveran Paste. Finally can start my monthly Souveran application - WOOT!
Wheels cleaned w/ Megs Wheel brightener cut 4:1 and protected with DP's wheel glaze
Tires and fenderwells cleaned with Armor All Tire Foam
Tires dressed with Armor All Extreme Gel
Glass cleaned up good with Klassi AIO and #0000 steel wool, then Stoner's Invisible glass
Headlights/Taillights cleaned/shined/protected with DP's Plex All
Chrome with English Custom Metal's Hot Chrome Polish
Black plastic pillar's between windows with Collinite #476
Black plastics (grilles & bottom of mirrors) w/ 303 Protectant
Front bumper with Collinite #476

I might do the engine as well - DP's Engine degreaser and dressed with Armor All tire foam

I also need to go out and get new license plate frames. Damn salt from the winter totally destroyed em, forgot about them! :sad010:

Funny you ask that, you are about the 4th person today that has asked me this question. I need to do a good write up and post it in the detailing F.A.Q.'s forum!!

Here's the link to some tips about it I posted earlier. Also some before and after pictures. make sure to read my section of Engine cleaning in post #2.

Real quick though on covering things. I generally would cover the battery and terminals, alternator, and any other exposed connections. Most detailers use foil when they do.
But, truth be told, detailers rarely cover anything because we all use pressure washers. The pressure washer gives out something like 75% compressed air and only 25% water, so it's very very more efficient than a running hose (which I'd never use on an engine).
