Default white paint sucks

It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard to get all of the swirls out of white paint. I use a PC with Pinacle swirl remover + polish, but when I'm done, I usually find spots that I miss and it drives me crazy. Also, how do you remove the residue on the pads? My orange pads (being that they're cutting pads) are harder and IMO tougher to get all the residue out in the wash.

Well the paint color itself has nothing to do with the hardness of the paint.

What car, model, year is it?

Are you using the advance swirl remover or finishing polish. Or both?

Also, a little more detail on what speed with the PC you are using, and which pads?? Meguiars, Edge, Lake County, etc.

Let us know and I'm sure we can help ya out.

it's not the softness of the paint, it's the IMPOSSIBILITY of seeing all of the swirls because white paint doesn't reflect that unless you have the perfect lighting conditions. It's so annoying LOL. I had a better time detailing my old pearl red car. I'm using an orange pad with advanced swirl remover on 3, then to 5.5 and the polish on 2, then - 4.5. I top it with Poorboy's EX-P sealant and then a layer of souveren.

Yes, white is definitely a pain to see! I like to set two halogen lights approximately 7-10 feet from the paint. You almost always have to work at an angle with the light as well to see the imperfections. Just keep at it and good luck with it, it sounds like you are making progress, just difficult in seeing.

I forgot to address your residue problem on cleaning pads. I LOVE using XMT's pad cleaner. This comes in a 12oz. squirt bottle. Last a long time as well. Just squirt on the pads after using, then rinse with warm water and the polish will come out. The XMT line is also made by Pinnacle, so your polishes would come out extremely easy. From experience, optimum products, Poorboy's Natty's Blue, and a few other carnauba waxes are a little more difficult to clean.

This is by far one of the most popular pad cleaners.
Here is a link to the product: [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]

There are also a few other products, such as DP's Pad rejuvenator. This a powder that you would add to a couple gallons of water, then let the pads sit in the solution and later rinse. I would strongly recommend these products over washing pads in the washing machine.

Just keep working on it! It's looking good so far from the pictures I've seen.

You will never be able to completely clean your pads. There will always be coloring or what-not left, but that doesn't mean they're not able to be used. I usually let them soak in the XMT Pad Cleaner for like 10 minutes and then throw them into the wash with LOTS of hot water. They come out decently clean.

Buy the 64.oz of the Pad Cleaner. My 12oz. lasted me 3 detail jobs and I was out. They say to spray a generous amount of the liquid on the pads. I guess my generosity is a little much.

Let me know how you like ONR, I've only used DP's 4 and 1 and love it. They say that the two go hand in hand with each other.
