If you are just wiring the existing amp so that each channel provides power to an individual 4ohm coil, the amp is still going to provide the same amount of power to the subwoofer. Isn't it?

using my RF P500.2 (class AB) specs as an example:
250wRMS x 2 channel @ 2 ohms
500wRMS x 1 channel @ 4 ohms
125wRMS x 2 channel @ 4 ohms
250wRMS x 1 channel @ 8 ohms

I think I suggested a member on NC to wire the coils independent like this and it was Nismos14 who said that it would make the same power either way. If I misread the question or overlooked something: sorry and disregard.
