Correct... the wiring through the engine bay was the 4 gauge wiring for the amp

Speedometer was removed to get to the VSS wire, for the nav... (tells the nav your speed... etc.)
The Avic D3 has "Vehicle dynamics display allows you to monitor your vehicle's performance with on-screen gauges, including acceleration, direction, speed and more"
I'll try and take some more pictures of the nav and the VDD and what not when I have some time.... I've just been saying I'll put up pictures and have been so busy!
Incase you need it... I copied it from gixer311's (Nissanclub) photobucket... incase he takes it down.
For you guys doing the install yourself... or if your installer needs help... these are some useful threads... with some good info...
