That said, I only made $35k last year (started working in June), am still in school, and have quite a bit of carry over from previous years, so I didn't have to pay any tax last year. No I pay 602.40. I know this because I am the accountant for the company. I write the check to the insurance company and I set up the deductions that pull the money out of my paycheck. If my employer didn't offer coverage I can get my self insured for about $1800 per year with higher co pays.
