ikey battery almost gone....
so anyone know what battery the ikey uses? and does anyone know how to change the battery....i hope this doesn't require some special dealer tool
on my dash there is this thing that says my ikey is almost out of battery.....i hope i dont have to change the battery on it that often i've had my altima for almost a year and a half and replacing the battery often can get annoying

I just opened it right now. I guess the battery is a CR 2032 because thats what written on the inside of it.
Take out the real key and on the bottom flat part of it jam your nails or something flat on the edge of it and then pull it apart.

dude, it's not that difficult. on the side of the key there's a notch on either side, pry the two parts from each other and tada, there's your battery

Hello, i was having the same problem with the short battery life in my key, so i went to my nissan dealer and apparently there is a recall for the key. He said just bring all of the keys in and they would give me new ones. I have an 07, so im not sure if there is also a recall for the 08 models or if they fixed it. Hope that helps.

Weird, if I remember right the manual says that the battery last more then a year. I hardly ever use the Ikey to open the doors or anything. It just stays in my pocket.

but its constantly emitting radio frequency... that's how your car knows when the ikey is around...
