Cleaning injectors as old as yours should be done by pressure cleaning(forcing cleaner thru the lines). Nearly all good garages offer this service. May cost you $60-$80 for the cleaning but itll be worth it. Soaking burnt/baked on crud isnt gonna help at all. The cleaner the shops use has an abrasive in it that basically scrubs off the build up. Ive had this done a few times on cars with 80,000+ miles and the results were very noticable. Price may be more in your area than mine...or less?
