Default Could bad alternator cause this?

when i put my car in drive and push the gas pedal the engine will not rev up. it will go but only in idle speed. car wont stay running it just dies jumps starts fine but when i disconnect it dies within minutes. pretty sure its the alternator but wanna hear opinions. Just got it replaced 3 days ago then replaced the headlights yesterday and this started happing tonight on my way home. Could the headlights have anything to do with this? there the jdm black ones had a friend put them in could he have doen anything to cause this?

The car not running for long after you disconnect jumper cables sounds like either the alternator or the battery.
Installing headlights most likely will not cause a problem unless you shorted out the wiring and it's always drawing power and killing the battery.
But not very likely that it's the headlight.

sounds more like the distributor.....not an electrical issue.

It sounds like it could be a faulty or loose electrical connection at the distributor, coil or even alternator! If it was your battery it would more than likely crank but not turn over! If you just got a new alternator put in then maybe check the wiring, cause they may have connected something wrong! I'd also check your timing, it might have changed when they replaced the alternator!

Sounds very much like a bad alternator. The one you got put in may be defective, or it was not installed correctly and the positive cable leading to the alternator has come loose. Also check the battery terminals for loose connections. You should plan on getting a new battery as well, because once you drain it completely (like when the alternator dies) it typically doesn't work very well after that.

So the car always shuts off after being jump-started? Not just in drive right?
