Default Berk V2

Figured my car has been stock long enough. Just installed the Berk V2 air intake. Installation required just basic flathead and phillips screwdriver and a small wrench. I have one picture showing how much more room there is after removing the big stock pieces and another showing the actual intake. I did notice that above 3K RPM you can definitely hear the intake working. It has a much more agressive sound.

The butt dyno definitely is feeling more grunt when you drop the hammer.

I've been happy with my Berk over the years.
How is your reactive filter compared to the Apexi?

Never ran it with the Apexi, but I am happy with the Reactive so far. For the price of the Berk you can't beat it.

Low end, off the line power went to shit though didn't it? Could not stand that with the berk. Has some gains from 3k+, but damn it struggles pulling away from a redlight.

Don't exactly understand the benefits of that "heatshield" I suppose it keeps radiant heat from the filter itself, but you're still getting hot engine bay air.

I think the heatshield is more of a "Splash Shield" I did feel as though a tiny bit of off the line grunt is gone but I plan to remedy that with a pulley or two.

i was on the fence between a v2 and the nismo, and someone was selling a v2 for 150 + shipping, and someone else had a nismo for 110 shipped, SO I got the Nismo of course. I could not be happier, the car pulls so much harder from 3500 rpms and on. I love the sound, i just got my car back in april, and am just starting to do some mild bolt ons (with my slowly decreasing funds in college) i am going to install my nwp plate over spring break next week, and hope to order the y-pipe too. i am so happy i went with the full CAI over the berk, but changing the filter is definitely easier on the berk lol

quick pic just cuz

That's a nice intake setup, I will definitely go with that longer style in the future, I got the Berk for a little over the cost of a couple air filters so thats the main reason I picked it.

Did you re-tune the car to take in the new amount of air?

There will be no difference in how an engine runs if the MAF plug is pointing one way or another.
Where it will make a difference is if the MAF is mounted in the wrong airflow direction.
As long as the arrow on the MAF is pointed towards the motor it's mounted with the correct orientation.
