Default The True 1st/2nd Gen Lounge!

Starting the 1st/2nd gen lounge in it's true home. Let's get some chat going on here!

I want to start by saying how much of a kick I got out of taking my subframes off my Altima to start work on the subframe bushings. God knows how much I miss it. I remember taking the rear subframe off years ago to put on those poly bushings, it brought back memories (except having air tools makes it so much better this time!).

The only bad part was how dirty I got. I get a little greasy at the shop machining but not anything like I did that day!

By the way, I know a few of you by name, but not everyone. My name's Antonio for anyone wondering, but you can also call me Red for short (most do).

I need a new filter for my Injen intake.

My suspension is back to stock, save the SE FSTB.

every time I see a beige 1st gen cruising around town, i hope to see my old car still rolling around. I miss that car. A lot of blood sweat and tears went into it.

I still have my 1st gen. He is sitting static, awaiting the day I return my focus to him.
Still, I almost get a tear whenever I see a white Altima running around town.

But you know, of all the cars I've had, my 240sx is the one I miss the most, and it was one of the slowest I ever had, but it handled like a dream. 5spd with RWD and so much fun to drive

I still have my 240sx, it's my daily driver until I get my Sentra going again. I love the 240SX, it's amazing how it handles from the factory considering how sloppy it is (tired old bushings, relatively loose chassis).

Mmmm, GTO, always wanted one of the newer ones.

Removing the subframes is one of the few things I haven't had to do yet to the altima.

I'm hoping to sell my 93 SE sometime soon...

^Whaaaa? How come?

The rear subframe is pretty easy to remove.

The front subframe? Not so much, because it involves taking off a LOT of other stuff with it.

I'll still have the '96, which is the car that has had all the work done to it.

The '93 SE was/is Gixxers old ride, if you remember him. A ridiculous series of events occurred (best I can put it) and I wound up with his car. The intention was to make it the DD. However, it looks like the DD choice will be between the '93 SE 5spd (w/LSD!), or an '00 Maxima 5spd. My goal now is to try to figure out a way to have both, but not sure if I'll be able to pull that off.

I haven't been by here or the other forum since my Altima was rear ended and subsequently totaled a year ago. Even though I've jumped ship and am in the BMW camp these days, I still fondly remember my '95, too. My E46 isn't nearly as good of a city commuter as the U13 was, although it is a damned sight more comfortable.

Oddly enough, a lot of names I remember from this community are now in the BMW world (anyone remember ICEMAN00?), and I see Def, Red Lion, and others lurking on the Nissan road racing forums, which I lurk to learn new things.

If I get a 1st gen again, although it would be for my girl (ostensibly), I hope you'll have bushings available for it, Red Lion. The car would certainly benefit from more positive caster. It is still a pretty solid platform for rallycrossing, and unlike B13s, they're still common enough that finding one isn't too bad.

I remember Iceman! I liked him. Yeah, I'm still doing the bushings, I've got sets of front (with caster options) and rear control arms , front and rear subframes and rear knuckles all coming out very soon. You'll be seeing them.

Haha ironically enough I own a BMW right now too, an 01 530i with shifttronic. Except for the auto, I like the car for road trips and the comfort is fantastic, it's so quiet and smooth. But I only bought it as a money-maker, I got it cheap at an auction and am going to sell it soon. I'd like another BMW or might try my hand at a Merc, Audi, or Lexus if I can find something I'll enjoy.

Well... I'm baaaaack too.

Sold my 1G to the scrapyard. For $300 after parting out the good stuff. Moved on to a 2002 WRX...

Which now has a spun bearing. Not sure what's next... But looking forward to it!

I'm gonna say yes since the Sentra Brembo's bolt up to a 93-01 Altima and they also bolt up to a 4 lug S13.
