FYI: First Generation Nissan Altima
First Generation Nissan Altima
From 1993 - 1997, the Altima was for the most part, unchanged. In 1995, OBDII was introduced. Some 1997's are really 1997.5's, the difference being crash beams, and engine electrical system is slightly different, though still uses the same engine designation. 1993 Altimas were available with automatic shoulder belts. 1993 - 1994 Altimas had a honeycomb grill, while 1995 - 1997.5 used a grill with slats going across it. A select few early Altimas came with a limited slip differential. The Altima was built here in the USA, in Smyrna, Tennessee.
