later this week, i probably will be buying a Genesis 4300k HID kit [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]. Has anyone had on of these Genesis kits before? These seem pretty decent and of a higher caliber than the chinese ebay ones. This will be my first time installing one of these, and I'm under the impression i do not have to tie the lights in with the battery? is this true? Also, for all yous who have installed these before, where did you install your ballasts at? I think the 4300k looks the most factory OEM, i really do not want to grab the attention of a specific group of people who shall remain cops nameless. Any info you guys can give me would be great.

HID's are not hard to install. You do not have to tie them into the battery. Basically, there are two harnesses coming from the ballast, and two harnesses coming from the headlight. You plug both of them up, and there is one more harness that matches up to the factory harness where the stock bulbs plug into. As far as mounting the ballast, I put my new headlights in the same time I put my HID's in, and I mounted the ballasts directly underneath of the headlight. It's a perfect spot, and there still will be about a half inch of clearance between the top of the ballast and the bottom of the headlight. It's really a good spot, I had pics of it of how I mounted it, but I can't find them.

BeeCee, did you just use double sided adhesive when you put them under the headlights? also, when you fiind those pics, would you mind sending them to me?
Directly underneath of the headlight, the is a metal bar that's part of the chassis I believe. The ballast is about 2-3 inches wider than the bar, so not all 4 screw holes in the ballast mounting bracket can be used (doesn't affect the mounting any though). I used two holes in the ballast mounting bracket, and used 2 self-tapping screws to mount it into the bar. It really worked out perfectly.
And as far as the pics, I think they are gone man lol. I took the pics with my sisters camera a little while back, and the pics aren't on her camera, and aren't on the computer ANYWHERE. So I'm pretty much sure they are gone, which sucks ass. But I think I could get a pic from inside the engine bay and you can kinda see where its mounted. I'll see if I can take and get a decent pic in the next couple days.
I have some questions for you guys who have these already.....Should I get the single beam or the bi-xenon? I live in a normal size town so I'm not really doing any dark hollow driving, but I do enjoy the occasional extra light. Aside from the major price difference (199.99 compared to 349.99) , are there any other pros\cons? Do our OEM headlight assemblies scatter the light all over the place? Have you guys passed inspection with these (apparently they're illegal) ? Your answers are much appreciated!!
Definitely get the bi hi/lo. I have only have the low beam at the moment with my HID's, but I moving them to my fog lights and getting the bi hi/lo for my headlights. The HID's are definitely a big difference from factory low-beams, and it is a better range off light (I got the aftermarket headlights, but its probably the same shit as stock), but there is still times when I drive and I could definitely benefit from hi-beams. And plus, when you got bright ass headlights people put their hi-beams on because they think your hi's are on (which happens to me all the time), and if you don't have the hi-beams you can't blind them to show the other car they aren't your hi-beams. When you will put the hi-beams on, the lights will go off. Me personally, I hate the shit, I need some hi-beams. I'm going to be uprgrading myself very soon, I definitely recommend to just get the hi/lo.
I like not having hi beams with my HID kit, when I flash my hibeams its like a crazy strobe effect down the whole block. :hahaha:

Ive had 2 sets of yellow hid fogs which blew out around a year of having them and headlights that lasted 2 years. Ive never had the genesis ones but my headlights were from visionbulbs.com. My fogs were from ebay and died way to quick. So Id advise against waisting money on cheap hids.
I would personally go with the VLED's kit, I have met the owner and he is a great guy, and his products are VERY high quality. If I hadn't already bought mine I would have gotten them from him hands down.
